Inflatable Penile Implant, Patient Track, Patient And Partner Satisfaction

In this video we demonstrate how the patient experiences his journey towards a penile implant. The patient is the central character in this video explaining his diagnosis, his previous therapies and the outcome of his penile implant, finally with involvement of his partner. Besides the urological background explained by myself, there is a key role for all nurse practitioners involved in this whole process. It starts with the prosthetic nurse counselling the patient pre-operatively, as well as explaining how the post-operative track will be. One of the nurses of the dedicated team in the operating room clarifies their job during the operation. Finally the head nurse of the ward expounds what happens once the patient is admitted to the hospital, as well concerning pre-operative preparation as post-operative care.

By doing this we construct a manual where the patient can learn what will exactly happen once he decided to get a penile implant.
